Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions from patients and clinicians.

Patients

How do I access my results online?

Your results are available on CERIDEP's secure patient portal, using your file code and email address. Your referring physician also receives the report directly, to support you in interpreting it.

How long does it take to get my results?

Turnaround depends on the type of examination: intraoperative for a frozen section, a few working days for a routine biopsy. Examinations requiring immunohistochemistry take additional time, specified case by case.

Does my physician receive my report directly?

Yes. The pathology report is sent directly to the referring physician, in addition to being made available on the patient portal.

What should I do if I don't understand my report?

A pathology report must be interpreted by a physician. Please contact your referring physician, the only person qualified to place the result in your clinical context and decide on next steps.

Can I request a second opinion on my diagnosis?

Yes. CERIDEP performs slide reviews and anatomopathological second opinions. Every case is also subject to systematic double reading by two pathologists.

What is an anatomopathological examination?

It is the microscopic analysis of tissue or cells sampled from the patient, in order to establish or confirm a diagnosis. It guides prognosis and treatment choice, particularly in oncology.

Clinicians

How do I send an urgent sample or a frozen section?

Contact the laboratory to arrange a frozen section and agree on the intervention time. A pathologist is reachable for urgent intraoperative sections.

Do you perform immunohistochemistry in-house?

Yes. The laboratory has an automated immunohistochemistry platform, ensuring reproducibility and reliability of staining.

What are your turnaround times for a routine biopsy?

A routine biopsy is reported within a controlled timeframe after the sample reaches the laboratory. Cases requiring additional techniques are given a turnaround specified case by case.

How can I obtain a second opinion on a difficult case?

Send the slides or blocks together with the initial report. CERIDEP handles the review and can, via its digital pathology, seek expert opinion for complex cases.
